The time has come for all Aboriginal people to state where they stand on these issues. We are against mining and developments. Are we the only blackfellas who feel this way or are there others who feel the same?

The National Native Title Council is calling for stronger political leadership on the issue of native title.

There are hundreds of native title claims being argued across Australia and the council says most of them are getting bogged down in the courts.

The council's chairman, Brian Wyatt, says native title is a burning issue for Indigenous people which needs speedy resolution.

He says the party that forms the next Federal Government should elevate the issue to the top of their agenda.
